SIGA 2025: Motions

Motions and Discussion Groups

Motions 1 to 17

Each submitted motion has been categorized under one of three themes — TechnicalProcedural, or Financial — and assigned its own Discussion Group (DG) to facilitate focused dialogue. As previously announced, the discussion period for Motions 1 to 17 officially closed on July 20, 2025. However, several members have expressed interest in joining the discussion groups not to participate, but simply to read and become familiar with the conversations that have already taken place. In response to these requests, SI Exco has arranged for members to join the discussion groups in read-only mode. This means they will be able to view all prior posts and comments, but will not be able to post or participate actively in the discussions.

To join any of these groups in read-only mode, please click on the joining link provided in the rightmost column of the table below.

Motions 18 to 21

As part of the standard pre-SICOGA process, Servas International Executive Committee (SI Exco) has released four new motions, which are now available for review and discussion.

These are Motions 18 to 21, and they reflect feedback and concerns shared by members during recent consultations and motion discussions. The discussion on these motions closed on August 16, 2025 (24:00 UTC). We are still allowing members to join these groups in read-only mode.

All motion writers were given summaries of the discussion in their group by the respective group moderators and asked to revise their motions, if necessary.  As a result, some motions were withdrawn, some were revised and some left without any change.

Full details of the current status of the motions are available as PDFs from the links in the table below.

Discussion Groups

MODERATORS:

  • Technical Discussion Group: Pamela Yang
  • Procedural Discussion Group: Pramod Kumar
  • Financial Discussion Group: Hamsavahini Singh

We invite you to review the proposed motions and reach out to the Moderators to join the discussion groups. These groups are a vital part of the democratic process, giving you the chance to provide valuable feedback to the motion writers.

By participating, you can help refine and strengthen motions, increasing their chance of being adopted at SIGA. Or if you believe a motion is not in the interests of Servas, you can express your concerns.

Your input is essential to shaping the future of Servas — let your voice be heard!
