The longest march for peace
We are several Servas groups from Europe planning to take part in this march for peace, from Finisterra in Spain to Jerusalem: the longest march for peace!
Groups of walkers will set off from several countries. This is a gathering of walkers, associations, communities, cultural and/or spiritual groups, and people committed to peace, regardless of their origin or beliefs. There will be no banners, only a white flag symbolizing this unity in the desire for peace.
The charter of this march is in line with the Servas spirit. “We walk to connect, to listen, to learn, to sow hope,” is how one of the organizers expressed the spirit of this march.
The first departure took place in Spain on February 1. There will be a departure from Paris on May 1, from Amsterdam on April 25, and from Berlin on May 18. A first meeting point is planned in Lausanne on May 27. Groups from European countries will meet in Budapest in September 2026 to continue together via Turkey to Jerusalem.
We sincerely hope for an end to the war that is ravaging the Middle East. May this march achieve its goal of peace!
Everyone can participate as they wish: alone, with family, for a day, a week... offer accommodation, a service... propose or participate in an event during a rest stop, spread the word among family, friends, and associations...
