The international trek in the Pyrenees was initiated by Servas members from Catalonia (Spain), who have been organizing it for around ten years.
This year, the trek took place from September 24-30 and it was organized, with the support of Servas-France, by French Servas members who had greatly enjoyed participating in previous treks in Spain.
We hosted members from Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, the USA, Denmark, Portugal and France in a group gîte. For some, this trek was the destination of their travel, for others it was a stop along the way. For everyone, it was a wonderful opportunity to meet and share experiences, and a chance to discover a little of the Pyrenees and their rich and beautiful nature.

We also sang the Servas song with Jean. We practised Qi Gong with Maria-José and Dao Yin with Fabienne. Catherine offered a game to discover linguistic expressions, ways of expressing things figuratively in our various languages: it was fun and we had a good laugh.
We danced, led by Massimo, to the sound of accordions and guitars played by Catherine, Valentina, Luis Miguel, Francisco and Jean.

To conclude, here are some comments from participants:
- “This is the meaning of Servas: to continue to enable encounters at a time when social networks are reducing them to “side by side” encounters.” (Pierre-Antoine)
- “I've been a young Servas member for two years and you've simply helped me discover the beauty of humanity”. (Monique)
- “Having recovered somewhat from so many emotions and joys, my little cat by my side, you have made me a happier man and “almost” reconciled me with the human race.” (Francisco)
- “Servas is people meeting people, emotions, hospitality, friendship.” (Luis Miguel)
Many thanks to Servas!
