Peace Statement – For a World Without War
We, as members of Servas and global citizens committed to peace, justice, and human dignity, stand united in support of all peaceful and pacifist initiatives that strive to bring an end to violence and armed conflicts around the world.
War never truly has winners. It leaves behind trauma, destruction, displacement, and profound human suffering. Civilian lives are lost, generations are scarred, and hope is buried under the rubble of hatred and division.
In the face of escalating global tensions and humanitarian crises, we raise our voices to call for:
- Ceasefires and dialogue, not bombs and silence.
- Understanding and empathy, not fear and hatred.
- Justice and accountability, not impunity.
- Compassionate action, not passive indifference.
As members of Servas, a peace-based network rooted in friendship, intercultural exchange, and mutual respect, we believe in the power of human connection to break down barriers and sow the seeds of long-term peace.
We appeal to all Servas members, and to people of conscience everywhere, to:
- Support nonviolent movements that uphold human rights.
- Challenge narratives of hate, and speak out for those whose voices are silenced.
- Promote and cherish encounters, conversations, and understanding across borders, cultures, and beliefs.
Let us be bridges—not walls. Let us continue to be a voice for peace, wherever we are.
Because true peace is not just the absence of conflict, but also promoting understanding, acceptance and the presence of justice, dialogue, and humanity.
