From 18 to 22 April, a member of Servas Rwanda, Mr. Fidele Rutayisire visited Korea where he had gone to attend the Seoul debate on lessons learnt on addressing gender based violence from Korea and around the world. This meeting gathered participants from Korea and from 12 countries from Asia and Africa.
One lesson learnt from this debate is that gender based violence is a barrier to peace process in the world. In addition, there is an intersection between sustainable development goals and gender based violence. The United Nations UN's Sustainable Development Goals, SDGS, would not be achieved as long as there is still gender based violence in our countries.
At the same time, Fidele Rutayisire, a member of Servas Rwanda was privileged to be day hosted by Yun Yongbourn from Servas Korea.
