The 30th Servas International Conference and General Assembly (SICOGA) attracted the largest group of
participants in the organisation's history. Almost 200 people from more than 50 nations gathered in Matamata
in New Zealand October 10-16, 2015. A highlight of the conference was the opening and closing traditional
Maori ceremonies.
The New Zealand conference organizer Marijke Batenburg and the SI president Jonny Sågänger both gave
opening and inspirational speeches (Marijke Batenburg's speech can be found
here)
During the General Assembly, which is the business part of the conference, many important decisions were
made by the 54 official national delegates concerning the future for the organisation. New Servas officers
were elected and the ones who left their duties were shown due appreciation for their work.
The conference also offered a program for entertainment, education and many opportunities for the
participants to extend and strengthen their global network of peace-loving acquaintances and friends.
On this website you will find information about the decisions and elections that were made. You can also use
the website to learn about SICOGA, whether you are an official delegate, a volunteer or a curious Servas
member.
The website is divided into two main sections –
Conference information and
General Assembly information.
