Dear Servas Friends,

 

We are happy to invite you to the Servas Israel International Meeting.

Dates: April 2-7, 2013

Place: Kibbutz Sde Boker, in the Negev desert, in Southern Israel.

 

We look forward to seeing you all in Israel.

Servas Israel hosts will be happy to host you before and/or after the meeting.

Take the opportunity to tour our small country with its diversity in landscapes, cultures, history and people.

Information Notes

Place: Kibbutz Sde Boker, Negev, Southern Israel,

Dates : April 2-7, 2013

 

Among the topics of the meeting:

  • The kibbutz The unique community way of life, and how it has been adapting over the years to the changes in the Israeli life style.
  • David Ben Gurion, main founder and the first Prime Minister of Israel The Man and his Vision.
  • The desert - Landscapes, flora and fauna, geology, history, people.
  • Environmental life in the Desert - Agriculture, solar energy, energy conservation, water resources, various forms of settlement.

 

Tours:

  • A full day tour by bus to Makhtesh (crater) Ramon, to the desert’s ancient agricultural installation at Nitzana or Avdat Nabatean city  and a visit to a Bedouin village.
  • A visit to young individual farms.
  • A walk or bicycle ride to Nachal (river) Zin at sunrise, Avdat spring at En Avdat…

 

Social activities:

  • Country presentations – every evening country representatives will present their country by folk tales, costumes, singing, dancing, food etc.
  • Youth late night parties – talk, dance and drink -  under the desert sky

 



 

 

Participants’ contributions are most welcome:

·         Handcrafts

·         And more

·         And more

 

 

·         Workshops, lectures

·          Games, story telling

·          Photography

 

Price:

220 euro or 280 USD per person (Today approx.1100 NIS- New Israeli Shekels).

 

The price includes:

·         Accommodation in two locations – Kibbutz Sde Boker and Midresehet Ben Gurion.

·         Meals

·         2 organized trips by bus.

·         Bicycle rent.

·         Morning and evening transportation between the two locations.

 

Registration:

Please fill in the attached registration form (pages 4-6 of this document) and send it to israel@servas.org, no later than November 15, 2012.

Reservations for accommodation, tours and meals have been made for the first 63 registered participants.

 

Payment:

Payment of 50% of the price should be deposited until 15 December 2012, directly to Servas Israel bank account:

Poalim Bank # 12, branch Shoham # 410, account # 84026

The rest will be paid at the venue on arrival, in local currency (Israeli Shekel).
