Sunday, March 4, 2012, an armory of War armored regiment Mpila a neighborhood located east of Brazzaville has exploded due to fire, causing over 200 deaths according to official figures and about 2,500 injured and 14,000 displaced persons homeless.
In the streets near the ammunition depot, hundreds of homes were devastated.
The authorities have opened different sites welcomed the homeless, whose numbers are estimated at over 14,000 [people] right now.
Dozens of children are separated from their parents since this tragedy.
Just hours after the disaster the Congolese government issued an appeal for help to rescue many families victim of this situation. To date the national and international assistants continue to occur at the location of victims. Despite this mobilization help are still needs for families affected.
We think to bring our block to the building for any degree eased our brothers who are in distress.
We are launching an operation of collecting clothes for children, toys as well as school supplies that will give to the children claims as needed. Other essential items are always welcome. We count with the participation of all members of Servas end to carry out this humanitarian project.

Top Human Rights Council 19th Session in Geneva (February 27 to March 23 2012)
UN SI Servas representatives in Geneva were able to attend several HRC meetings and cosigned a joint NGOs statement stressing the importance of human rights education and training.
In effect, on December 19 2011, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution reaffirming "that every individual and every organ of society shall strive by teaching and education to promote respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms."

Top Servas Youth - Appeal for Funding Successful organisation of SI Youth Meeting, GA We would appreciate very much all financial help towards enabling young activists or potential activists to participate in the two events. We already have several applications and worry about not being able to support all of these people we would like to join us. It should be taken into account that it is a unique situation when, after the YM, a newly trained and bonded group of Servas young people can immediately experience and contribute to the workings of the organisation as a whole at the GA. Our opinion is that now is the moment to take all the possible steps to attract ‘new blood’ to Servas. We never have a guarantee that there will be a substantial effect of our actions but we do have a guarantee that if we do nothing, there will be no effect at all. Therefore we urge EXCO not to cut funds which were previously allocated to youth meetings and DC funds even if the revenue has diminished – we believe it is precisely the signal to make more effort, not less. And once again, it seems to us that on international level our organisation, with its history and status, is in a very good position to engage in fundraising outside Servas and that it would reasonably be the job of its President,Vice President. Top Servas Congo Brazzaville Family Day SERAVS CONGO BRAZZAVILLE CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL FAMILIES DAY WITH CHILDREN VICTIMS OF THE LAST 4 MARCH TRAGEDY HOST TO THE CENTRE POPOUNIERE IN BRAZZAVILLE MAKELEKELE. On the occasion of the International Day of Family celebrated every May 15, Servas Congo organized a tour to the nursery center that hosts some children orphaned and another lost during the disasters related to the explosions of ammunition from the camp Mpila in Brazzaville on last March. This visit, which was to bring some smiles to the children deprived of family life, was marked by a donation to these children by Servas Congo. Opportunity here to thank on behalf of those children’s , members of Servas Congo and my own behalf, the Servas members of REUNION, who have allowed by their financial participation the constitution of this gift. Special thanks to Jocelyn VIGNAL and Genevieve who have spared no effort to make possible the participation of Servas REUNION. Confront to several challenges for the management of 15 children that has the center, this gift will allow the center to slightly these difficulties we suggested the center manager, Ms. MALEKA, to whom we gave symbolically some component section of this gift.
Proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in its resolution of 20 September 1993, this is an event that reflects the importance the international community attaches to families, the basic unit of society and the interest it door to the situation of families worldwide. SERAVS CONGO BRAZZAVILLE CELEBRE LA JOURNEE INTERNATIONALE DE LA FAMILLE AVEC LES ENFANTS VICTIMES DE LA TRAGEDIE DU 4 MARS DERNIER HEBERGER AU CENTRE LA POPOUNIERE DE MAKELEKELE A BRAZZAVILLE. A l’occasion de la de la journée Internationale de la famille célébrée chaque 15 Mai, Servas Congo a organisée une visite du centre la pouponnière qui héberge les enfants dont certain sont orphelin et d’autre égarés à la suite de la catastrophes liée aux l’explosions des munitions du camp du régiment blindé de Mpila à Brazzaville le 4 Mars dernier. Cette visite, qui avait pour but d’apporter un peu de sourire à ses enfants privées de vie de famille a été marquée par une remise d’un don à ces enfants par Servas Congo. Occasion ici de remercier au nom de bénéficières, de membres de Servas Congo et à mon nom propre, les membres de Servas REUNIONqui ont permit par leur participation financière la constitution de ce don. Un remerciement particulier à Jocelyne VIGNAL et Geneviève qui n’ont ménagés aucun effort pour rendre possible cette participation de Servas Réunion. Confronter a plusieurs difficultés pour la prise en charge de ce 15 enfants que compte le centre, ce don devra permettre au centre la pouponnière de tant soit peu comble ces difficultés nous a laissé entendre la responsable du centre, Mme MALEKA, à qui nous avons remis symboliquement quelques article composant ce dont.
